The build process of a Heckert HEC1800 horizontal machining centre shows the flexibility of a machine with 3.4 metres swing and 1.8 metre table capable of handling loads of 13 tonnes, plus three pallets and extensive tool tower storage system with buffer storage. The extended 0.75 metre spindle shown is ideal for using short tools for highly-rigid boring, drill and heavy milling of internal features.
